ember io · your health record
Every rep.
Every gram.
Every panel.
Your protocol is only as strong as the data behind it. Ember IO is where everything lives: your daily nutrition and training, your lab results over time, your body composition from InBody scans, your treatments and supplements. One record. Connected to your clinical team.
So your doctor is adjusting your protocol on what actually happened — not what you remembered at your last review.

Nutrition module
Logging food should take seconds, not minutes.
The reason people stop logging is friction. Every extra tap, every food name typed from scratch, every meal entry that takes more than thirty seconds is a churn event. Ember IO is built to eliminate every one of them.
01
Barcode Scan
Camera opens in under 200ms. Most products resolve in under a second against Open Food Facts and USDA. For anything not found, pivot straight to photo capture. No dead ends.
02
Photo Panel Capture
Point the camera at any nutrition panel. Vision extraction pulls name, serving size, protein, carbs, fat, and calories in 2-3 seconds. Every field is editable before confirming.
03
My Foods Catalogue
Every food you log gets saved. Next time, tap once to find it, tap again to set serving size, tap a third time to log. Under 10 seconds for a consistent eater. The entire point.
04
Daily Diary
Four meal slots. Macro rings that fill in real time as you log. Protein gets the biggest number. This audience tracks it above everything else. Training day and rest day targets set automatically.
P
Protein-first design
Protein gets the largest number on every screen. Carbs and fat matter, but this audience tracks protein above all else. The UI reflects that.
Smart defaults
The app remembers your typical serving sizes per food. If you always log 150g of Greek yoghurt, that becomes the default. Eliminate the most common friction point in repeat logging.
End-of-day nudge
If you're 35g short on protein at 8pm, the app tells you what to eat to close the gap. Contextual and specific. Not a nag. A signal.
Training module
Science-backed programming. Measured every session.
The RP model of periodisation. Minimum effective volume through to maximum recoverable volume, with deload weeks and mesocycle structure, built directly into the app. No spreadsheets. No guesswork. The science runs silently; the interface stays simple.
01
Program Setup
Core v1Six questions. How many days a week you can train. Your goal. Experience level. Muscles to prioritise. Equipment available. The app generates your full mesocycle: split, exercises, week-by-week volume. Before you commit to a single session.
02
Session Logging
Core v1Full-screen workout mode. No navigation, no menus. Three taps per set: weight, reps, log. A custom keypad in 1.25kg increments, because gym weights don't come in round numbers. Rest timer starts the moment you log. The next exercise loads when the timer ends.
03
RIR Feedback
Core v1After your last set: Easy / Good / Hard. Three buttons. Two seconds. This single input drives the entire auto-regulation engine. Whether next week's weight increases, holds, or your volume backs off before it does.
04
Auto-Regulation
Phase 1+Three easy sessions in a row means the weight goes up. Hard sessions with no RIR left means volume reduces before load does. Every change is shown to you before the next session: "Tomorrow: Bench Press target increases to 82.5kg. You're ready."
The science engine
The model runs under the surface. Users see progress, not jargon.
MEV → MRV progression across a 4-week mesocycle
Deload triggered automatically after peak week
Previous mesocycle weights carry forward as the new baseline
Exercise rotation suggested between mesos for variety and continued adaptation
Health record
Not a fitness app.
A health record.
Most health apps track one thing. Ember IO holds your entire clinical picture: the labs your doctor ordered, the body composition your trainer measured, the protocol your doctor prescribed, and the sleep your body logged overnight. In one place. With one log-in.
01
Lab Results
Core v1Every blood panel you run lives here. Biomarkers displayed with reference ranges and optimal zones — not just a raw number, but where it sits. Trend lines across panels so you can see whether testosterone at week 8 is higher or lower than week 4. Import results from any GP or pathology lab: photograph the printout, the app reads it, the data integrates. The document is the input. The structured record is the point.
02
Body Composition
Core v1 + Phase 1Weight, body fat, and lean mass tracked over time with trend deltas. Import an InBody or DEXA scan and the record becomes richer: segmental muscle analysis across each limb and trunk, visceral fat level, and your InBody score. The app distinguishes between a manual weigh-in and a scan — scan data unlocks the detail that a scale cannot give you.
03
Protocol & Treatments
Core v1Your active treatments and supplements in the same app as your food diary and training log. Dose, route, and timing for each clinical treatment. Supplement schedule reviewed at each appointment. Every protocol adjustment your doctor has made — with the clinical reasoning behind it. Not a static printout. A living record that updates as your care evolves.
04
Sleep via Apple Health
Core v1Nightly sleep duration, quality score, and HRV pulled automatically from Apple Health. Your doctor reviews your sleep trends before every protocol adjustment. Sleep is not a peripheral data point in the Ember model — poor sleep directly impacts hormone levels, recovery capacity, and training response. It belongs in the same record.
One record
Labs, body composition, protocol, training, nutrition — not four separate apps with four separate logins
Import anything
GP results, InBody scans, DEXA reports — photograph them and the data integrates. No manual entry.
Clinical visibility
Your doctor sees the same data you see. Protocol adjustments are made on evidence, not recall.
The difference
One app. Both sides of the equation.
Every other training app and nutrition app operates in isolation. They track one thing. They optimise for one thing. They have no visibility into the other.
Training apps
Track your lifts.
Nothing else.
A training app increases your weight targets regardless of whether you hit protein 2 out of 7 days last week. It doesn't know. It can't know. It pushes you when your recovery is already compromised, then calls the plateau a mystery.
Nutrition apps
Log your food.
Nothing else.
A nutrition app sets fixed targets regardless of whether you trained today or rested. It doesn't know your training load. It can't adjust carbs upward on leg day because it doesn't know you had a leg day.
Ember IO
Both sides. Connected.
When Ember IO sees that protein targets were missed four out of seven days last week, the training algorithm de-risks progression. It won't push volume harder when recovery is already compromised.
When a workout is logged, carb targets for that day automatically increase. Rest day targets reset to baseline. The nutrition protocol responds to what your body actually did. Not a static number set once at onboarding.
This is only possible because one platform owns both sides of the data. No other consumer app in this space can do it. Ember can.
Roadmap
What ships first. What comes next.
The MVP is scoped tightly around the two modules that matter most: nutrition logging and training tracking. Everything that could be built is not everything that should ship on day one.
